Policy
Via nomination by Board members, the District Governing Board (the Board) Chair and Vice Chair/Secretary will be elected from the membership of the Board at the annual organizational meeting held in January of each year. The term of office shall begin upon the adjournment of the organizational meeting and shall extend through the next annual organizational meeting. Members may be re-elected to the same office any number of times. In the event of a vacancy in office, the Board shall elect a successor to the unexpired term as soon as practical after a vacancy occurs.
The Chair of the Board shall preside over all meetings of the Board, shall call meetings as herein provided, and perform any other duties as shall be vested in him/her by the Board. In the event of his/her absence or inability to act, the Vice Chair/Secretary shall preside over the meetings of the Board. In the absence of both the Chair and Vice Chair/Secretary, the remaining members may elect a pro term chair for the day’s meeting.
