Returning Students

Welcome Back, Comet

Many CCC students have taken time away from college for work, family, military service, or simply life’s demands. Taking time away from college is more common than you might think, and coming back is something CCC students do every semester. We have the advising, support, and flexible options to help you finish what you started.

Am I a Returning Student?

You can count yourself as a returning student if either of the following apply to you:

  • You have attended Coconino Commuity College as a degree-seeking undergraduate in the past, left in poor academic standing, and have missed at least one semester.
  • You were enrolled as a degree-seeking student, then withdrew, and more than two consecutive semesters have passed following your withdrawal.

What's Next?

If you have taken for-credit courses at CCC within the past five years, you do not need to reapply. Simply log in to your student account and register for classes.

If you have used federal financial aid to pay for your classes and left CCC in poor academic standing, you should contact the financial aid office. You may need to complete additional steps to get your financial aid funding back for your upcoming semesters.

Log In to Your AccountContact Financial Aid

If it has been more than five years, you will need to submit a new application. It is free, simple, and gets you back on track quickly. Once you are back in the system, an advisor can help you review where you stand, revisit your academic plan, and figure out the best path forward from here.

How to Become a CCC Student

  1. Submit your CCC application
You will receive an email confirmation from CCC admissions with your next steps. If you need help, make an appointment with an Admission Advisor.
  2. Set up your student account
Instructions to set up your account will be sent to the email address you used to apply to CCC. Once it is active, all future communication from CCC will go to your student email, so check it regularly. Admissions staff may reach out requesting additional documents to complete your enrollment, so keep an eye out and respond promptly.
  3. Apply for financial aid
Don’t skip this step! There are several options available to help you cover the cost of your education, including grants, loans, scholarships, and the Comet Promise. Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to get started.
  4. Meet with your Academic Advisor.
Your advisor will help you figure out course placement, choose your first classes, and map out a plan for your first semester.
  5. Register for classes.
Once you have your plan, you will register for classes through your student portal.
  6. Pay tuition and fees
Make sure payment is submitted before the deadline to secure your spot in class. See more about setting up a payment plan.
  7. Get ready for day one
Welcome to the Comet community! We’re glad you’re here!
