Program Options
Training is available for pilots at every stage, from students with no prior flying experience to licensed pilots looking to advance their skills or credentials.
Private Pilot License: The starting point for most student pilots. Covers the fundamentals of flight, navigation, weather, and aircraft systems, and prepares you to fly solo and earn your Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Private Pilot certificate.
Instrument Rating: For pilots who have earned their Private Pilot License and want to fly in a wider range of weather conditions and airspace. Instrument training develops the skills to navigate using cockpit instruments rather than visual reference.
Commercial Rating: Prepares licensed pilots for careers in aviation, including the ability to fly for compensation. The Commercial Rating is a key step toward careers as a flight instructor, charter pilot, or airline pilot.
Mountain and High-Density Altitude Training: Sedona Airport sits at approximately 4,830 feet above sea level, making it an ideal environment for mountain and high-altitude flying instruction. This specialized training is valuable for any pilot operating in the western United States where terrain and altitude demand advanced skills. Available to current pilots who want to develop or sharpen these specific competencies.

Sedona Airport offers a training environment that is genuinely difficult to replicate. Surrounded by the red rock formations of northern Arizona, the airport requires pilots to develop real competency in mountain flying, high-density altitude operations, and terrain awareness from the earliest stages of training. A note on Non-credit Workforce training and professional development
Learn to Fly is offered through CCC’s Workforce and Professional Development program in partnership with Untethered Aviation. It does not carry academic credit and cannot be applied toward a CCC degree or certificate. CCC is not the flight training provider. All flight instruction is delivered by Untethered Aviation.
